Senior Category Managers (x2)

A large Local Authority is immediately looking for two Senior Category Managers within Adult Social Care procurement.

The council is going through a radical central change programme aimed at reducing costs and they need two Senior Category Managers to help them deliver the Social Care procurement projects.

The successful candidate will have experience of major service redesigns and reducing costs. You will be able to demonstrate when you have taken strategic or innovative approach, as opposed to just delivering tenders. You will be highly commercial and be able to show evidence of researching markets and cost analysis.

Reporting into the Head of procurement, you will be responsible for working with a number of different divisions and business areas, and working closely with senior commissioners.

You will ideally have experience of local government, however we will consider other sector experience such as NHS. Experience of transformation and adult social care will be very beneficial.

This is an opportunity to join a council which is working on a market leading supplier relationship model, and who has an extremely sophisticated procurement department where the commissioners and procurement are working closely together. They can offer the right candidate the opportunity to achieve some genuinely impressive savings.

This is a six month assignment, however it is likely to go for much longer.
