My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, is looking to recruit a Senior CAD Designer to join their Engineering Technical Services division on a long-term contract basis.

Position Description:
Prototype Vehicle Operations - Prototype Engineering Fixture Project Engineer
The main responsibility of the role is to interpret an engineering brief for a BIW assembly fixture, and subsequently design the required fixture in 3D and 2D, utilising standardised components and creating bespoke interfaces, ensuring the resulting design is expedient to manufacture and the data is provided to the manufacturer in the appropriate manner, and subsequently project manage the fixture creation.
The key responsibilities are to understand BIW assembly methodology to produce fixture designs which are suitable for low volume assembly to interface with suppliers [both internal and external] and project manage the manufacturing and commissioning activities.

Skills Required:
Fixture design experience.
Extensive CAD experience.
Extensive experience of sheet metal prototype manufacture.

Experience Required:
CATIA V5/TCE experience.
Previous experience of 2/3D design.

Experience Preferred:
Five years automotive BIW experience required.
