Senior Buyer

*Senior Buyer - up to £350 per day - 4/5 month contract - Leeds*

Security Clearance: Must already hold DS clearance or be willing to undergo.

We have an exciting opportunity to join one of our key clients in Leeds who are looking for a Senior Buyer to achieve and report on savings and efficiencies achieved with costs. The successful candidate will execute end-to-end procurement processes, including data collection, document, preparation, negotiation, contract award, contract management and supplier relationship management.

Key tasks and deliverables:
*Manage communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders
*Communicate priorities and business plans to internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring that all programmes and projects deliver to time, cost and quality requirements
*Developing and motivating staff
*Setting standards and values for the team, ensuring effective communications with staff are in place
*Defining, analysing and interpreting financial data confidently

Essential experience:
*Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) or relevant work based experience.
*Experience of Procurement in an organisation procuring goods and services.
*In depth specialist knowledge of procurement procedures and working knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory requirements and contract law.

Desirable Experience:
*Experience of planning and developing procurement strategies for contracts where EC Procurement Directives apply.
*Experience of a multi-functional Finance System.
*Understanding of Centralised Category Procurement and Cabinet Office Approval processes
*Good communication and presentational skills with which to influence stakeholders
*Numeracy, analytical and problem solving skills.
