Senior Buyer - £350-375 p/d Ltd - 3 months - Bristol

Key tasks and deliverables:
The role is for a Senior Procurement Officer in the Head Office Contracting Team to cover maternity leave. The current categories that require covering are Research and Environmental Consultancy. This will require managing a portfolio of work, including management of framework agreements, award and monitoring of high turnover mid-high value contracts and partnership agreements. Requires delegation to team members. Using best practice Procurement approaches to manage risk and deliver value for money from every pound we spend. The role will involve working effectively with national colleagues, the wider Defra network and Crown Commercial Service. The HO Contracting team leads on procurement of predominantly service based requirements for the National/Head Office (Bristol). We are responsible for managing the following categories of spend; Research and Innovation, Data & Information (outside the scope of CIS), Environmental Consultancy, desk-based Collaborative Projects, Learning & Development, Legal and Finance., and partnership agreements.

Experience Required:
We're looking for someone with solid public procurement experience, preferable in professional services (consultancy, research, etc.) or adaptable to categories. Management of a high-volume programme of work delivered by the individual and support team (Procurement Officers and Assistant Procurement Officers). Experience with set-up, management and use of framework agreements - including pan-government arrangements (Crown Commercial Services, etc.), OJEU, open tender (under the transparency initiative), and partnership agreements
