Senior Buyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement professional to join a well respected organisation on a 4 month basis. As Senior Buyer you will be expected to achieve and report on savings and efficiencies achieved with costs including; spend, scrappage, usage and inventory levels.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

- Executing end to end procurement processes, including:

Data collection, document preparation, negotiation, contract award, contract management and supplier relationship management.

- Manage communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders, communicating priorities and business plans to internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring all projects and programmes are delivered on time
- Developing and motivating staff as well as setting standards and values for the team, ensuring effective communications with staff are in place
- Defining, analysing and interpreting financial data confidently

What are we looking for?

- Someone with a successful track record in managing purchasing/procurement teams within a public or large private sector organisation
- Experience in procurement of IT Network/Infrastructure goods and services
- Knowledge and experience of procurement of software licences
- Must have the ability to influence those at senior levels
- Experience of negotiating and building partnerships with external customers/suppliers
- Experience of developing strategic solutions to changes within the business operating environment
- Good technical knowledge of EU and UK regulatory requirements
- Ability to produce clear, well researched reports and strategy documents for presentation up to and including Director Level meetings
- Good project and people management skills.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level and MCIPS qualified
