Senior Buyer

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer has become available within a well established privately owned company with a full order book till 2014.

Based at their West Midlands site purchasing is mass production.

It is essential you MUST have automotive background, having experience in plastic injection moulding would be an advantage. It is essential that there is a high level of strategic sourcing, the strategic element within this role is crucial. You must have the ability to look at supply chains and formulate plans along with this. The client is looking for a candidate who is able to look at the current situation from a different angle having the ability to challenge the norm. Experiences with stakeholders both internal and external within the role are vital as you shall be doing this on a daily basis within this role.

You must have a good track record or Cost Savings this is essential!

The client is looking for a fresh set of eyes, with the candidate being ambitious and creative, re visiting suppliers who are currently being used being confident to introduce good quality suppliers and negotiate savings. Negotiation skills are imperative. The client is specifically looking for candidates who have experiences and successes from starting initial negotiations and seeing them through the process.

There is a great team dynamic and you shall be reporting to the Purchasing Manager, with opportunity to progress within the company.

Your job will be strategy based, right from determining, negotiating and proposing strategies; therefore you have this strategic bias to your work as opposed to tactical, operational purchasing experience. You must also be objective driven and customer focused with the ability to effectively influence people.
