SR. BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST

2 YEARS+ CONTRACT

Defines customer needs in technical and business contexts. Ensure the proposed technical and business solutions meet the customer's objectives for the work effort.

EDUCATION/EQUIVALENCY:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IS, or job related degree (Required) and 6 years of combined related education and related work experience (Required) or Total of 10 years of related work experience (Required)

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:

- IT Business Analysis experience (Required, 6 years)
- Experience in a Web Development environment (Required, 3 years)
- PMP Certification (Desired)
- MS Visio (Desired)
- MS Project (Desired)

DAILY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Gather requirements from customer and document requirements regarding Java web applications, lead meetings, project management documentation, work with developers and testers

PRIMARY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

- Internal customers, other Project leads/Business analysts, developers, testers, system support personnel, and management

WORKING HOURS/CONDITIONS:

- 8 A.M. - 5 P.M. Some nights and weekends may be required.

TEAM SIZE: Approximately 30 team members

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- (25%) Elicit and document user requirements to meet a business objective. Identify and validate requirements and organize the information into a logical document using business analysis models that is understood by the customer and Information Systems.
- (5%) Mentor less experienced business systems analysts.
- (20%) Respond to questions and ensure understanding of why the business solution was chosen. Guide both technical and customer departments in the development of the systems.
- (10%) Facilitate the transfer of knowledge about the "big picture" direction of the business units to others who support them.
- (15%) Ensure the accurate deployment of solutions through review of problem logs, assisting with test plans and test matrices, and other analysis activities.
- (10%) Provide input on the business direction for system changes.
- (15%) Validate the business need for solutions to business problems and process improvements.
