We are currently recruiting for a SENIOR BUSINESS PLANNER to join our client based in central Glasgow for a short term contract.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Build a variety of workforce models which have been agreed as suitable for particular service areas, recommending appropriate assumptions, which will enable budgetary levels to be agreed.
- Responsibility for ensuring the agreed planning cycle is implemented and actions completed within the target timescales, thus ensuring forecasts are reviewed and schedules released as per the cycle, across all services, across all sites & all skill-sets
- Following guidance from the Operational Planning Manager, schedule & facilitate Protected Learning Time for our Partner Health Boards across Scotland.
- Develop "what if" modelling to demonstrate and promote improvements in staff utilisation and business effectiveness.
- Work with external Resource Planning Specialists to ensure best practice from the Contact Centre industry is available & understood.
- Promote optimisation of front-line resource, within agreement timescales particularly where flexibility exists to support peak demand.
- Influence and reduce the number of shifts which are resourced by the payment of excess hours.
- Annually, work to remain within agreed budget levels whilst recommending changes to shift patterns, recruitment and change of hours which would ultimately reduce the organisational requirement & budget for excess hours.
- Design and recommend shifts and rotas in line with service requirements for all company services ensuring the best deployment of resource is achieved in order to meet all service level objectives.
- Provide daily advice, support and direction to the Senior managers & line managers across the full company estate and in conjunction with others provide integral input and support to service development project teams.

INFORMATION & ANALYSIS REPORTING

- Produce appropriate & accurate management information for the Executive Team, Senior Managers, Special Projects Team, Partners and the Scottish Executive, in order to demonstrate ongoing integrity and accuracy of information in relation to resource and capacity planning procedures and also to challenge other parts of the operation on delivery of the optimisation of resourcing policies and procedures.
- In conjunction with others, and operating as a subject matter expert, play a significant role in the management of any national initiatives which impact on the deployment of our resources eg Shift Reviews carried out nationally to ensure a 'best-fit' between our workforce & the requirements of the Scottish public.
- Working with HR Recruitment and Workforce Planning team to ensure that staffing requirements within the strategic workforce plan feed into the ongoing recruitment plan and to identify all front line resource requirements in a timely manner.
- Regularly meet with Department/Service leads and provide the opportunity to discuss in detail the performance of their service, against their Workforce Plan targets and budget.
- This should also include a regular review of resource deployment & shift planning, ensuring potential developing risks of under resourcing, on particular shifts or patterns are clearly highlighted and considered when agreeing future recruitment plans.

TRAINING/COACHING

- Provide expert support, training, development and formulation of best practices to all within the team, in the field of Resource Planning. Develop the ability to conduct Individual Performance Management reviews, with members of the CRT team. Support coaching and development as identified by the Operational Planning Manager.

AUDIT/QUALITY ASSURANCE

- Responsible for the implementation and ongoing delivery of the Workforce Management System Data Quality strategy, ensuring data within the Workforce Management System remains robust by implementing and overseeing a national quality control system to maintain and update the Workforce Management System, ensuring all system users are aware of, and follow, agreed procedures.
- In addition, working with the Operational Planning Manager, responsible for the quality assurance of all data, formulas & calculations in relation to all associated planning tools & reports available across all services to all users.
- Undertake and maintain a regular audit of the existing Workforce Management system and all associated data management tools to ensure the accuracy of data, formulas, calculations and outputs which are complex in nature.
