SENIOR BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (BI) APPLICATION ARCHITECT - RAID/MICROSTRATEGY/ETL/PENTAHO
The BI Application Architect will focus on areas such as ensuring the technical consistency of the BI jobs (sequencing, scheduling, data retention ) inside the BI domain, and also supporting the BI execution.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES (COMBINED):
- Responsible for the technical solution across ETL, DB and reporting, during the application/project life cycle
- Serve as the conduit between the BI data architect/the BI development team and the BI Domain Lead.
- Facilitate and participate in the BI estimates
- Ensure the consistency of the data model, together with the data architect.
- Integrate the ETL's in the overall job schedule
- Supervise the technical day-to-day activities of assigned BI team members, contribute to their development and provide support and guidance as appropriate
- Manage the RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) with the Domain Lead
- Contribute to the BI work package deliverables at a technical point of view, in accordance with the established processes, standards, practices and procedures of the Organisation
- Collaborate with BI developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
- A strong understanding of the BI development life cycle, database concepts and modern BI architecture is required
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position within the BI domain
- Experience with BI reporting tools, especially Microstrategy
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Good attention to detail
- Support the BI specific methodology, together with the other colleagues
- Problem solving
- Good presentation skills
- Understanding of current BI industry trends and willingness to learn
DESIRABLE QUALITIES:
- Degree level or equivalent
- High quality interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Pentaho (ETL) is an asset
