BUSINESS BACKGROUND & NEED:

We are ready to hire an excellent Senior Business Analyst. You must have subject matter expertise accomplishments and experience as well as strong documentation skills. Ideally, we want someone with in-depth knowledge of the criminal justice operational business processes in probation, court, and correctional agencies. Ideally, you must have in-depth experience in law and justice business analysis and technical solution design.

If you have excellent experience and are well-versed in a business analyst role, we will train and teach you what you need to know to be effective in our role.

All in all, you will be required to work under direction to develop workflow processes, identify areas for improvement and potential automation of business functions, document as-is business and technical situation and develop and document to-be business and technical solutions.

ENVIRONMENT: We have highly integrated departments via technology. We started in the 1970s with IBM, integrating systems using mainframes, Cobol and green screens. We were a pioneer in technology integration at the local government level. Our system is used by more than 4000 people at the county, state, and federal levels. In 2009, we updated our system without losing the level of integration. In the current probation system there are Lotus Notes databases and Access databases. We want you to access the current system and bring fresh techniques and technology to the engagement. This is part of a larger project, thus it s not isolated.

You may be able to work 2-3 weeks per month on-site at our San Jose location, and work the rest remotely.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Technical and user documentation and training
- Information system integration
- Bachelor's Degree or higher

PLUSSES:

- Extensive experience working with criminal justice, public safety and public sector organizations
- Master's Degree in Justice, Public Safety or a related field highly desirable
