ROLE: Senior Business Analyst (BI/BW) - Manufacturing/Site Services
CLIENT INDUSTRY: Pharmaceutical
JOB LOCATION: Basel Region (initial 2 weeks in Mannheim, Germany)
WORKLOAD: 100%
START DATE: ASAP
PROJECT DURATION: Until 30.06.2017 and there is a possibility of extension.
TRAVEL %: 20%, possibly to Mannheim (DE), Rotkreuz (CH) and Penzberg (DE) may be required. But, in the first two weeks, the contractor will be especially working from Mannheim.
REMOTE/HOME OFFICE OPTION: (1-2 days per week) would be an option, prior approval required (but not allowed in the first weeks).

Role Description/Purpose:
Our client has an open internal position for this job role and would like to fill that position in the meantime with a contractor; hence this position can be defined as a back-fill position.

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with solid technical background in SAP BW (as well as with consultancy skills and PM skills).

Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Manage the solution delivery of your business domain, BI solutions for Manufacturing and Site Services.
- Consult your partners in Manufacturing/Site services to find the best analytic solution for their problem to increase efficiency and effectivity of their function.
- Balance innovation with landscape simplicity and thus identify the right BI solution technology including SAP, non-SAP and cloud solutions for the given challenge.
- Collaborate with your partners in Manufacturing/Site services in the best way to ensure an optimized implementation and high level of adoption.
- Guide, coordinate and oversee the development work of your external onsite and offsite BI developers to ensure best design, adherence to standards, quality of work, and robustness of solutions.
- Manage smaller initiatives or work with internal or external project managers on bigger initiatives under your responsibility.
- Oversee the budget of your projects and enhancements and ensure proper cost allocation.

Must Haves:
- 7+ years of professional IT or Business experience in a major, global organization and 5+ years of experience in consulting and development of Business Intelligence solutions with also experience in SAP/BW.
- Advanced working experience in reporting tools like SAP Business Objects, or Tableau.
- Advanced knowledge of operational business processes in Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain.
- Strong analytical skills and a can-do attitude in order to solve complex problems.
- Strong consulting, negotiation and influencing skills and ability to communicate to technical & business audience.
- Advanced English skills (written & spoken)
- Advanced German skills (written & spoken)
- International, goal-oriented mindset
- A willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Nice to Haves:
- Former pharma experience (ideally having worked together with one or more business functions and IT in the past.
- Successfully worked in international teams, ideally experience with near-shoring or off-shoring partners.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in visual design and methods & tools to measure usability is considered a plus.
- Experience in Big data and Data Science technologies, such as Hadoop, Predictive Analytics or R is considered a plus.
- Experience working in a regulated environment and with CSV (Computer System Validation) is a plus.
