Projektbeschreibung

Contract Term

This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25th, 2013.

This is a 6 month contract opportunity with potential to extend long term. Overview

Our Client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with SAGD Oil Sands Development/Construction experience. This is a Calgary-based opportunity.

The magnitude of growth planned for our Client's Oil Sands Facilities is unprecedented within this large Canadian oil company and is a huge challenge. They have received feedback from stakeholders, operations management system interviews and the PM community itself that the following key areas need to be addressed to ensure they continue to deliver projects successfully and fill the gaps that exist today:

- Lack of consistent and fit for purpose PM processes being used within and between assets for various types of projects
- Lack of consistency in availability and support for Project Management Training and competency development
- Lack of a common, approved repository for tools, templates, best practices, systems for Project Management
- Lack of collaboration within and between various Project Management Teams, especially between assets doing similar work
- Need for more effective and systematic gathering, dissemination and application of lessons learned
- Different application and interpretation of execution strategies between project teams for similar activities.

The vision is to create a community of practice portal (Project Management Environment "PME") that incorporates project management frameworks for each of the project type disciplines (eg, plant expansion projects, new resource play projects, operational projects). The portal will be a knowledge base for project management as well as venue for community members to collaborate. Through the PME, they hope to address these gaps over time but most importantly create a sustainable community for Project Management team members to engage each other and participate in the development and improvement of how they work.

In order to deliver on five-year and ten year plan goals of doubling NAV by 2015 and producing 900 mpopd by 2021, they need to grow and develop teams quickly and effectively. The PME will accelerate on-boarding of staff and enable greater mobility of people between teams through more consistent language and processes, while delivering fit-for-purpose processes as required for different project types. Role and Responsibilities

The Business Analyst, reporting to the Project Manager, will work with the Project Management Subject Matter Expert and Key Stakeholders from all applicable business units and related third parties to elicit and define business requirements for content that will be accessed through the PME. Once requirements are understood, the Business Analyst will work closely with the Technical Writer to create and/or obtain and modify the requisite content. Once the content is in a relatively usable form, then the Business Analyst will coordinate vetting the content with the stakeholder community in order to solicit their respective input and feedback on that content. The Business Analyst is also responsible for coordinating all quality assurance functions relative to the content, the portal itself and all applicable project management frameworks. The Business Analyst is also accountable for content publishing to the portal prior to go-live.
