Context
The team brought live a new payroll solution in combination with PeopleSoft on 01/01/2014.

Currently it is working hard on the roll-out of two more PeopleSoft modules:
- Absence Management
- Time & Labor

These modules will tightly interact with the customer's resource planning tools.

Knowledge, experience & skills
Knowledge of PeopleSoft is an asset. An in depth knowledge of HR processes a must.

The ideal candidates for this challenge are strong team players who can work in a mixed team with consulting partners, internal customers and colleagues in a multilingual environment. Stakeholder management in a large project must be sufficiently developed.
We seek a sr business analyst who can manage his/her responsibilities hands-on in an end to end fashion guaranteeing correct results on time.

Focus in the months to come will be on testing, quality assurance, launch and support. Experience in these fields and in depth know how of the processes and techniques required for these tasks are a must have.

This is not a role for a project manager, though we expect the sr business analyst to be able to assure an end to end follow-up of his/her track in the program:
- Analyze and design
- Make sure all team members know what to do by when and follow this up
- Organise testing, write test scenarios, execute them
- Report on the results
- Help drive and motivate the project team

Tasks
Analyses the complex needs of the customer with regard to key processes of the company, the IT system, automation and so on with a view to meeting them optimally within the framework of the organizational strategy. Acting as an expert at the highest level and offering support and guidance to team members.

1. Analyzing context and environment, and determining the situation to gain a good understanding of what problems occur and what opportunities arise within the framework of the project. Defining goals and scope of the business solutions. Checking whether standards are complied with.

This includes the following tasks:
- Determining the client's capacity for achieving the strategic objectives and goals
- Advising the business analysts in the choice of solutions (with regard to feasibility and so on)
- Defining the general scope of the business solutions
- Analyzing the differences in capacity
- Determining a new approach
- Setting up feasibility studies for large-scale projects

2. Analyzing highly complex needs and objectives, documenting the needs and translating them into specifications.
Conducting opportunity studies, identifying the client's strategic needs and analyzing the differences between expectations and the services provided. Giving advice and/or formulating a strategy on the solutions that need to be implemented to optimize the services provided.
This includes the following tasks:
- Documenting the existing situation in detail
- Advising and offering aspects of the cross-disciplinary analysis during the coordination meetings.
- Checking whether the analyses conducted by the business analysts comply with the rules, standards and norms in terms of both form and content.
- Verifying consistency between the various solutions to guarantee and develop the quality of existing components.
- Analyzing the overall process for managing customer needs by consulting with the business and issuing additional advice.

3. Clarify and create understanding of the customer's objectives (if more complex or cross-disciplinary problems occur).

4. Participating in communication together with the involved parties (project managers, stakeholders, Business Partners...). Defining the approach, methods and techniques used to simplify consultations between the parties. Introducing procedures, formats and tools that ensure the analysis procedure works optimally.

5. Ensuring that the developed solutions meet the strategic needs of the BU/SU. Simplifying and supporting the introduction (implementation) of the new solutions, technologies and procedures. Supporting the development team in the detailing of the design work, including splitting the project into phases, revising the detailed design and defining deliverables.

6. Contributing to improving and adapting technologies, tools, procedures and concepts to ensure the analyses meets the new needs of the business and te client in general.
This includes the following tasks:
- Monitoring technological developments in the domain of the Business Analyst
- Testing concepts (proofs of concept)
- Keeping your own knowledge up-to-date on the basis of (individual) study, documentation, online research, participation in technical seminars and discussion groups …

7. Formulating recommendations and proposals in consultation with the persons responsible and/or other involved services to give management the possibility to make decisions about the adaptation and optimization of certain systems, processes and procedures.
Identifying and pointing out recurring problems and proposing solutions to optimise the analysis of business needs as a whole. Ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements and the client's guidelines.
Anticipating, analyzing, monitoring and resolving major problems (from a technical perspective or on the basis of the impact) to provide solutions that meet the needs of the business in an optimal way

8. Communicating and reporting on the approval and the status:
- Submitting the solutions put forward to the stakeholders concerned for approval
- Reporting to the line management on the status of projects
- Determining, getting approval for and monitoring the project KPIs.

Skills
Must have
- Education and training: University/Master's degree
- Required experience for the job: at least 8 years' relevant experience as Business Analyst
- Background as HR-business-analyst: able to collect and challenge complex HR requirements
- Required technical know-how for this job:

* Knowledge of HR processes in a large company is key
* Thorough knowledge of analysis technique
* PeopleSoft knowledge & experience
* Thorough knowledge of the business processes
* Thorough knowledge of the principles, applications, techniques and instruments for project management including the financial techniques for good project management (business case)
* Good knowledge of computer applications and basic knowledge of IT
* Good knowledge of office applications
* Knowledge of process & project management

Nice to have
- Knowledge of payroll
- HPQC is used for testing purposes, prior knowledge is a plus, but not a must.
- Jira is used for task management, prior knowledge is a plus, but not a must.
