Senior Building Surveyor

Senior Building Surveyor required to start for a Large Local Authority initially 3 months but with the possibility of an extension.

Rate: Flexible but ideally around the £25.00 per hour LTD mark. But given the Market rate and experience needed, we can go up to £28 - £32 LTD for the right candidate.

The role :

Must possess a relevant qualification to at least HNC level or equivalent and have recent experience of working within in a commercial buildings environment. Such experience must include working within a local authority setting.

Must be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of building practice, and be familiar with the Building Regulations and other relevant Regulations and technical standards.

Must be able to produce working drawings and written specifications, to communicate requirements effectively to Contractors.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Asbestos legislation and Health & Safety Regulations including CDM.

Must be experienced in the preparation of specifications, drawings, contract documents, and cost estimates for building works.

Must be computer literate, and be able to demonstrate an aptitude and commitment towards computer aided design.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team and individually, and to communicate fluently with Client Officers and Contractors.

Must demonstrate experience in undertaking building surveys and the production of written reports, schedules of condition/dilapidation and cost estimates.

Ability to prioritise own workload, work to strict deadlines with a flexible approach, and work with a minimum of supervision.

Must hold a full valid driving licence and provide own vehicle insured for business use.
