Senior Basel Analyst

12 month fixed term contractOur client is a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh. They require a Senior Basel Analyst to join their team. Key Responsibilities:*To build, monitor and manage Basel models (PD, EAD and LGD) that are used in the management of the credit portfolios. *To ensure models are operating effectively and within policy. *To take remedial action such as model adjustments, policy overlays or even redevelopment where appropriate. *To ensure model documentation is up to date and fit for purpose. *To review regular reporting and data extract procedures with a view to driving forward changes to procedures that result in improved efficiency. *To work within the wider analytical community to identify and propose cutting edge modelling, techniques and data sources to be employed by the Models. *To develop knowledge and understanding of credit products at product, portfolio and process level such that your expertise lends itself to the continued improvement of all credit models. *Provide support and training to team members About You:*Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)*Demonstrated experience in Basel management - with a specific strength in working with Basel PD, LGD and EAD Models. *Broad knowledge of credit management. *Demonstrated experience to devise, build and document a Basel model through to deployment in the live environment. *Expert in monitoring and managing models, particularly Basel models. *Highly numerate with a propensity to analyse and solve problems.*Strong understanding of performance issues and delivering effective remedies. *Ability to extract and manipulate data via both SAS and SQL platforms
