Senior Back End Java Developer (Securities Trading)

We are looking for a Back End Java Developer to work in the Securities Trading area of our Investment Bank based in Switzerland.

The IT Equities area in Switzerland provides the strategic Order Routing and Execution Hub for the clients Products and Services globally, and has embarked on several projects to expand the product offering of the platform and replace several older order managers. The platform is a modern, high-speed, multi-threaded, Java-based distributed system, built on Service Oriented Architecture and high-speed, low-latency proprietary Middleware.

The Order Management System, interface components and ancillary services are developed primarily in Switzerland, but with offshore teams also contributing in an agile development methodology. The system uses Linux Servers and PC-based GUI applications.

Responsibilities:
The environment requires hands-on energetic programmers with the ability to provide technical and business expertise to the team and the wider programme. We require self starters that can understand business requirements, analyse and design pragmatic and effective solutions on strategic architecture and enable the wider team to deliver solutions through to production.

This is a senior, director level role which requires an expert multi-threaded, multi-tier distributed Java application developer. Responsible for development of the core Order Management System Middleware, external system connectivity, ancillary services and related automation components.
Strong securities trading knowledge essential.
