Senior Authorised Person (SAP)

A leading Renewable Energy client is looking for a SAP (Senior Authorised Person) for their offshore wind farm project. Initially this role will require the consultant to work as a competent Person trainer, conducting site induction of the client's electrical safety rules for Person & Competent Persons. The client is looking for an individual who can start this role from approx. 7th September 2015 up until 7th April 2017. The Consultant will normally work a 10-12 hr day, 7 days a week, shift pattern two weeks on/two weeks off.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

- To participate in design risk assessments, HAZOP, HAZID, FAT
- Input guidance notes to the clients Electrical Safety Rules
- Input onshore substation energisation and commissioning program & plan
- Define onshore substation safety procedures for electrical matters
- Implement and onshore substation permit to system for the clients electrical safety rules
- Co-ordinate onshore substation MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages
- Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
- Oversee all onshore substation MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
- Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 275 - 400 kV SAP & corresponding control engineer
- Responsible for ensuring compliancy with the client's electrical safety rules throughout the project
- High level of technical skills and insight in Onshore Substation energisation and commissioning activities, including termination and testing of transmission/export cables
- Training/classroom skills
