SENIOR ASSOCIATE needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- Include formulation/analytical support for verification of formulation stability
- Include formulation characterization to improve the physical and chemical stability
- Will be expected to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to execute

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- This position will provide formulation support for commercialization of protein therapeutics.
- Job responsibilities include formulation/analytical support for verification of formulation stability after process changes and the development of post-launch formulations.
- Additional responsibilities include formulation characterization to improve the physical and chemical stability of protein therapeutics.
- Primary analytical techniques include HPLC (SEC, dSEC, HIC), monitoring subvisible particle by HIAC, pH and osmolality measurements.
- The successful candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to execute, interpret, summarize and present laboratory experiments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- B.S. degree in Life sciences/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
- Zero to two (0 - 2+) years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
- The ability to quickly become proficient at new techniques as well as meticulous data recording is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment are important.
- The ability to troubleshoot issues with analytical instrumentation and excellent organizational skills regarding data management are essential for this position.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Fundamental knowledge of protein biochemistry.
- Fundamental knowledge of analytical characterization.
- Fundamental knowledge of protein interactions B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical engineering or related discipline with three (3+) years work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- M.S degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related discipline
- The successful candidate will have experience with protein formulation, and characterization and stability with analytical HPLC methods.
- Experience with solid state characterization techniques is a plus.
- Experience specifically with Agilent HPLC's and Chromeleon software is preferred.
- Critical skills include experience with data analysis, experimental design, oral/written communication, and an aptitude to learn a variety of analytical techniques.
