Yoh has a contract opportunity for SENIOR ASSOCIATE to join our client in Thousand Oaks, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- This position will provide formulation support for commercialization of protein therapeutics.
- Formulation/analytical support for drug product process characterization, commercial SKU development, verification of formulation stability with process changes, development of post-launch formulations, product quality investigation support, and formulation history for regulatory filings.
- Additional responsibilities in formulation characterization to improve the physical and chemical stability of proteins will be required.
- Primary analytical techniques include HPLC (SEC, RP, CEX), subvisible particle methods (HIAC, MFI), capillary electrophoresis, osmolality, pH, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- The successful candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to execute, interpret, summarize and present laboratory experiments in group meetings.
- Reading scientific literature and demonstrating strong scientific curiosity are essential.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.S. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or related discipline and three (3) or more years of work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Or M.S degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field and one to two (1 - 2) years of work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- B.S. degree in a life science with two to four (2 - 4) years industry experience and/or a M.S. degree in a life science with zero to two (0 - 2) years industry experience.
- Experience with Agilent HPLC's and ChemStation and/or Chromeleon software.
- Experience running HIAC and/or MFI (microflow imaging).
- Hands on experience with protein characterization.
- A fundamental knowledge of protein biochemistry, biophysical characterization, and protein interactions is required.
- The successful candidate will have experience with protein formulation, stability, and characterization including HIAC, MFI, and analytical HPLC.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment are important.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills regarding laboratory analytical instruments and excellent organizational skills regarding data management are essential for this position.
- Additional experience capillary electrophoresis is preferred.
- Critical skills include experience in analytical characterization, data analysis, experimental design, and oral/written communication.
- Aptitude to learn a variety of computer software including software for electronic notebooks.
