Senior Applications Support Engineer

My client is a global software vendor and is looking for a professional with experience integrating applications and supporting them to offer the below components and a fantastic role for a social media product portfolio.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an expert trouble-shooter to work on a new and innovative MDM product, we need an engineer with excellent diagnostic skills who is able to quickly determine if the reported problem is a product issue or an external problem. In addition you will work with other teams within Engineering Support or other departments - specifically QA and Engineering, to diagnose and solve customer problems.

This engineer must be able to manage escalations to other groups to drive issues to resolution. Function as a Product Engineering Expert by keeping current with the latest supported product technology and keep the product knowledge base (FAQs and Solutions) up to date. Take on projects which improve support processes such as white papers, bulletins, etc. Ability to deftly manage workload while being able to resolve time-critical situations professionally.

YOUR BACKGROUND:

- 4+ years of experience with a BS in Computer Science, EE, Computer Engineering or similar; (or 6 years with MS) with a combination of the following technologies:
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Proven 2 years experience in application Servers like WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss with some Java development
- Excellent command of databases and SQL (Oracle, SQL server or DB2).
- Experience with TIBCO CIM, BW and EMS is an advantage
- Exposure to Master Data Management technologies (TIBCO CIM, SAP MDM, Oracle Product Data Hub, WebSphere Product Center, Kadilo, Informatica) is preferred
- Experience with XML, HTML, application Servers, Web services with some development experience required
- Exposure to Eclipse based design tool development
- Ability to clearly lay out a root cause analysis plan and drive the different stake holders to a mutually satisfactory resolution
- Ability to multi-task and switch from one context to another
- Autonomous, self-motivated
- Strong sense of creating and maintaining customer satisfaction
