Senior Applications Specialist

A great contract position is available for a Senior Applications Specialist through till December 2014. Must hold a minimum NV1 security clearance.

This position requires a strong understanding of the Microsoft System Center product used in a both a traditional thick client SOE environment and a virtualised VDI/SBC SOE environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- to maintain and enhance the service delivery platform for the managed desktop environments;
- to perform regular maintenance tasks and to troubleshoot issues for the System Center infrastructure and Citrix network appliances;
- to design and maintain runbooks using System Center Orchestrator for workflow automation;
- perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting and enhancement on the System Center product suite and Citrix network appliances;
- identify and resolve system issues;
- write technical documentation;
- automation and optimisation to improve system processes;
- provide technical input on System Center to assist other teams in building solutions.

PROVEN IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF A SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SPECIALISM INCLUDING ONE OR MORE OF THE BELOW TECHNOLOGIES:

- System Center Configuration Manager
- System Center Operations Manager
- System Center Orchestrator
- Citrix EdgeSight
- Citrix Netscaler
- Citrix Cloudbridge
- Windows XP and Windows 7 client platform management
- Windows 2003, 2008 and 2008R2 server platform management

AS THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE YOU WILL ALSO HAVE:

- demonstrated effective analytical and problem solving skills;
- proven interpersonal and communication skills;
- experience and/or Certification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) would be desirable;
- history of working in a large, multi vendor ICT organisation, beneficial.
