Senior Applications Developer

Our client is a signature Pacific Northwest company seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop cost effective information technology solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications that are more complex. Candidates must be able to code, test, debug, document, and implement complex software applications.

The MICROSTRATEGY 9.X BI platform delivers actionable information to business users via the web. The candidate must have working knowledge of all areas of the platform including: Administrator, Desktop, Intelligence Server, Architect, Web, Visual Insight, Object Manager, Integrity Manager, Narrowcast Server, Enterprise Manager, Distribution Services.

The candidate must be able to create all the necessary schema, application and configuration objects necessary for delivering a complete application project. The Schema Objects include logical tables, facts, attributes, hierarchies, and transformations. The application objects include filters, prompts, metrics, reports, and dashboards. In addition, the candidate must have knowledge of advanced metrics (level, conditional), filters, consolidations, custom groups and reports with VLDB properties.

S/He must also have experience developing DYNAMIC DASHBOARDS both in interactive and Flash mode using various Widgets and Selectors, and layers for summary level reporting with large datasets. Specific depth of knowledge in the following areas is required: Intelligence Server, Performance Counters, VLDB Settings, Intelligence Server Memory, Security Filters, creation and tuning of Intelligent Cubes Internationalization, Must understand how to modify objects to perform translations Dynamic Dashboards, Must be able to create Dynamic Enterprise Multi-panel Dashboards in Express Mode, Must understand Performance Considerations for Dashboard designs.

- Participates in, leads and mentors others in requirements gathering and functional specification activities.
- May assist Functional Analysts in completing deliverables and translates business requirements and functional designs into technical designs.
- Assists with development of functional designs and resolving complex design issues.
- May act as senior technical expert to consult with and analyze the business needs.
- Resolves and helps mitigate production application issues and assists less experienced application developers as needed.
- Works with other business and technology teams to support resolution of end user inquiries.
- Contributes to the documentation of production support processes.
- Anticipates long term support issues and plans for corrective actions.
- May perform root cause analysis to identify permanent resolutions to software or business process issues.
- Working with application development leads, establishes, maintains and ensures compliance with standards for development, testing and documentation.
