Senior Application Packager - $80.00 per hour - Long term role

Worldwide leader in technology seeks an experienced  SENIOR APPLICATION PACKAGER to join there growing team. Initially a 12+ month contract to join this global team based in North West Sydney with view to extend.

As the senior application packager, your main focus will be to liaise with clients to determine software requirements, prepare packaging, troubleshoot and package applications, using defined processes and act as an architectural lead for the Software Packaging Group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

- Architectural lead for Software Packaging group. This includes creating process and standards documentation to be used by packaging delivery centre, as well as investigation into new toolsets and technologies.
- Creating application packages per defined standards. The technologies and toolsets you will need to proficient in are:
- InstallShield AdminStudio
- Desktop application packaging for Windows XP/Vista and 7.
- Server application packaging for Windows Server 2003/2008.
- Thin Client application packaging for Citrix.
- Creation of virtual application packages using Microsoft App-V
- Directly editing MSI's using Microsoft Orca
- Deployment technologies Microsoft SCCM and Group Policy.
- Workstation virtualisation technologies such as VMware Workstation.
- Application Compatibility testing and remediation
- New business consultation which includes reviewing Statement of Works and contributing to Technical Solution documents.
- Contributing to the operations of the Packaging Delivery centre. This includes preparing the packaging instructions which the Delivery centre will create the package from, as well as investigating any issues that may arise from a package deployment.
