Senior Analyst Programmer SQL Server - SSIS

THE SENIOR ANALYST PROGRAMMER IS EXPECTED TO;

- Have the ability to participate in development phases of different complex projects and meet the deadline
- Support analysis of business requirements form a technical point of view and provide input into the technical direction of the project
- Interpret and write Functional Specifications to deliver Technical Specifications in line with design standards, that accurately detail the technical solutions to be implemented and supported on IT systems
- Deliver assignments to agreed quality standards and procedures employees in the department
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Perform Production system support and Oncall duties

THE PERSON
- Proven development experience, ideally with some data warehouse experience
- Strong analytical, design and development skills
- Excellent communication skills - effective verbal and written communication skills of both technical and business nature
- Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Excellent self starter with the capability to show drive and resilience to take initiative in a demanding environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Work in a professional manner at all times, adhering to IT standards and policies and demonstrates a positive can do' attitude

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES FOR THE POSITION - WHAT YOU ARE EXPECTED TO KNOW
- The Senior ETL Developer will lead in designing, developing and supporting large or complex extraction, transformation and load (ETL) from the Operational Data store (ODS) and supporting systems and applications.
- Experience in all aspects of ETL Development and Oracle Essbase is essential.
- Knowledge of C# & SQL Scripting language eg queries, stored procedures and SQL Server Integration Services SSIS, SQL run agent & TWS are required.
- Some experience in the .NET development environment and light DBA skills would be an advantage.
- Experience in the support of off the shelf' software packages would be very helpful: - eg. OpicsPlus, Almonde, RegPro

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years development experience.

FURTHER EXPECTED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- IT qualification preferably to degree standard or similar
- Knowledge of Financial Services Systems and data warehouse environments would be an advantage.
