SENIOR ANALYST-PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPER - J2EE, DOCUMENTUM, WEBLOGIC, XML
For a project with the European Commission in Brussels we are looking for a Senior Analyst-Programmer.
CONTEXT - INTRODUCTION
DG SANCO manages many applications and Information Technology projects and many of those are document management and content applications.
The strategy of the DG has been to standardise the architecture and the development tools it uses for the creation and implementation of its projects.
Content and document management applications are Documentum/J2EE/Weblogic/XML based with an Oracle Back End.
For the projects in all three policy areas of the DG, Public Health, Consumer protection and Food Safety, SANCO requires a Senior Analyst-Programmer with a minimum of 6 years of expertise to work on the Content Management projects.
TASKS
- Analysis of the requirements
- Prototyping
- Writing/maintenance of applications that reflect the specifications
- Execution of test programs
- Definition and integration of technological components
- Integration with other applications
- Production of technical documentation
- Assistance with training the administrators and system users
- Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system
- Assist with evaluating and testing products delivered by other teams to ensure that they conform to the Commission requirements and methodology
- Participation in meetings with the Commission
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Good knowledge of application development environment
- Good knowledge of relational database systems
- Knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications
- Knowledge of modelling tools (eg UML)
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application development
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in teamworking
- Minimum 10 years of relevant studies and experience after secondary school
- Minimum 6 years of IT professional experience
- Minimum 2 years of programming experience
- Experience with UML or Case Tools
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience in Internet application development

The tasks will be performed at Commission's premises using the Commission's technical means.
