Senior Actuarial Assistant

Accountabilities * Clarify requirements, control output in line with established procedures and contribute to the continued improvement of those procedures. * Provide clear and complete documentation of results with associated analysis and commentary. * Provide technical support and ensure that sub team output is complete and accurate ready for sign off by the qualified actuary. * Maintain, run and oversee production of model runs for regular financial reporting (Group reporting, FSA,ICA, new business) using complex financial models (Prophet). * Work independently and proactively to produce or oversee production of required output. * Maintain awareness of key regulations (SII, Sarbanes Oxley, TAS) and ensure that all output complies with relevant Group policies. * Support projects and contribute to the integration of new SII processes whilst maintaining BAU output. Knowledge and Skills * Evidence of good progress inInstitute of Actuaries exams (all CTs complete plus some later exams) * Good numerate University honours degree (first or upper second class) * Strong academic record including Maths A Level * In depth knowledge of and ability to apply actuarial concepts and techniques * Understanding of and ability to manipulate complex software, specifically Prophet * Ability to identify key or unexpected outputs and investigate underlying issues * Life office experience essential * Prophet experience essential * Reporting experience preferred To find out more about Huxley Associates, please visit www.huxley.com
