Senior Accountant

We are currently recruiting for a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT to join a client based in LONDON on a

6 MONTH INITIAL CONTRACT

DAILY RATE: Dependant on experience - £350 - £400
DURATION: 6 Month Initial Contract with possibility to extend
LOCATION: London
CLEARANCE: Must be eligible for Disclosure Scotland security clearance
START: ASAP

The purpose of this role will be to prepare financial information for inclusion in accounts and returns for UKIO companies/products and to meet accounting, regulatory and statutory requirements in the preparation of financial information.

Our client is ideally looking for a qualified accountant for a role that will be the lead finance support for the review of strategic sourcing opportunities and enhanced modelling needs in their UK Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Annuity payments reconciliation & remediation
- Control and reconcile all payments/receipts for all products
- Cash-flow forecasting
- Support business and finance projects
- Consolidation (PAL, PRIL, PPL, PHSL)
- Maintain PeopleSoft ledger
- Prepare financial accounts (PAL, PRIL, PPL, PHSL)
- Process and systems improvement
- IFRS profits & capital reporting

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

Ability to:

- Analyse and make sense of financial information gathered via a RFP/RFI process
- Model financial implications
- Creation new model for the on-going forecasting of Operational costs/resource profile
- Develop Business Case for any identified opportunities/Experience in using key techniques etc.
- Prepare written presentations for Executive audience
- Strong stakeholder management
- Fast learner, ability to work alone where required

Experience

- Significant experience of financial reporting standards and other regulatory > requirements
- Significant experience of MI and report production
- Significant experience of cash and account monitoring
- Significant experience of data analysis

Knowledge

- Working knowledge of life and pensions products, markets and competitors
- Working knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislatory frameworks
- Relevant professional qualification (ie Accountant) with significant post qualification experience
- Understanding of the Statements of Principle and Code of Practice
- A background in commercial finance support for Operations/Commercial Operations/3rd Party Suppliers is also preferred but not absolutely necessary.
