Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant - 8 months - London

My client is looking for an experienced Accountant who will be ACA or ACCA qualified.

Experience:
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles
- Commercially astute
- Good planning/time management skills
- ACA/ACCA qualified
- Newly qualified to 2 years post qualification experience
- Experience of Oracle would be a strong advantage
- Experience in Microsoft Office products particularly Excel
- Knowledge of US GAAP would be an advantage
- Candidate should be accurate, flexible, a good team player, self-motivated and pay attention to details. "Hands-on" approach to getting things done. Sense of organisation, planning and prioritisation are compulsory.
- Knowledge of Dutch GAAP will be an advantage
- Ability to converse in Dutch and other European language is not required but will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the monthly management reporting under US GAAP and statutory reporting under local GAAP for the Level 3 Dutch legal entities
- Preparation of variance commentary for submission to Senior EMEA Finance Management
- Preparation and review of VAT returns for the above entities
- Preparing the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide support to the annual statutory audit process. First point of contact for local auditors
- Control of key OPEX cost lines for the Dutch entities
- Close liaison with EMEA FP&A to assist in commentary against forecast, and in the forecasting process
- Assistance in production of reports for local management for monitoring of departmental performance and also financial reports during month end process
- Assisting the Senior Manager Finance, EMEA Controller & Senior Director with any one off projects
