Senior Accountant

Our international client in Brussels is currently looking for a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT to reinforce the ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT during the absence of a team member.

The SENIOR ACCOUNTANT will perform general accounting tasks (IFRS/BE GAAP ENVIRONMENT).

Location: Brussels

Duration: 2 months replacement (possibility of renewal)

Scope of work:

. Ensures timely and accurate booking of monthly accruals and prepaid amounts.
. Monitors all entries into books in order to ensure that these are all accurate, timely and correct.
. Performs the monthly closing
. Performs trial balance reviews and analysis to ensure the books are correct
. Ensures that all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely manner.
. Ensures timely preparation of the monthly VAT reporting, quarterly intra-community reporting and the annual Corporate Tax declaration.
. Monitors Fixed Asset Management
. Monitors the intercompany invoicing process (payables and receivables), processes the intercompany reporting on a monthly basis with Shared Business Services (SBS)
. Provides information to the internal and external auditors during their visits.
. Prepares and monitors the annual statutory reporting and the annual statistics for the National Bank of Belgium.
. Act as an expert in the team for SAP/Excel

Requirements:

. A degree in Accounting and an adequate business experience (min. 5 years).
. Knowledge and experience in US GAAP or IFRS + BE GAAP.
. Strong problem identification & analysis skills.
. Strong communication skills.
. Good interpersonal skills
. Strong MS Office knowledge - expert knowledge of Excel
. Strong accounting system knowledge ( SAP)
. Takes initiative, is dynamic.
. Bilingual French - Dutch with good knowledge of English.
