Senior .Net Developer - Abingdon - £45K + Benefits

You will be working for an expanding software-house based near Abingdon. My client offers Business Process Automation solutions to a wide range of automotive business enterprises. You will be working for companies such as BMW, Toyota, & Honda.

The reason for this vacancy is due to growth and there are further aggressive growth plans for next year.

Job purpose:

This senior role entails working on the full software development life-cycle to deliver enhancements to the existing core modules and to extend the way the product integrates with manufacturer and third party systems.

The role will also involve the investigation and resolution of reported software issues.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

* Where instructed, provide technical support, advice and feedback to business analyst during the analysis and design stages to ensure functional requirements are achievable and appropriate

* Communicate effectively and regularly with Development Manager and other team members to ensure scheduled developments are delivered within agreed timescales and budget

* Assist the Development Manager with the planning and scheduling of agreed work items and other tasks

* Assist business analyst and other team members in the preparation and execution of test plans, including working with manufacturers and third parties where necessary

* Work closely with business analyst to deliver solutions which satisfy functional requirements and, where necessary, manufacturer and third party interface requirements.

* Ensure best practices are incorporated within delivered solutions

* Where necessary, manage and mentor other developers assigned to you for individual projects

* Manage the release of software to live customer servers, working out of hours to achieve this where relevant

Competences:

The Senior Developer will be expected to bring the following competences to this role :-

* A proven track record of working successfully in a team lead role

* Experience of working within a software vendor environment

* Working knowledge of current design patterns

* Working knowledge of object orientated methodology

* Ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.

* Ability to work to challenging timescales and to manage others in achieving delivery deadlines

* Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
