On behalf of our client, a leading global company within IT, we are looking for an experiencedInformation Security SpecialistFor this Contractposition based in Zurich in Switzerland our client is looking for an Englishspeaking candidate who can start as soon as possible.

On our Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) platform we are expanding coverage of security event sources and threat based monitoring use cases.
This is going to happen in a three process phases:
- Definition and implementation of preliminary reports and views based on prioritized use cases
- Analysis of results for detecting real issues (evading false positives) and identifying & specifying actions for remediation (base-lining)
- Implementation of residual security monitoring rules for Security Operations Centre
We are searching an experienced information security specialist in application security who is capable to take over phase 2 as described above.
JOB DUTIES:
- Analyzes security events and alerts on production SIEM originating from various sources like Windows or UNIX Servers, network devices, databases, malware scanners, etc.
- Assesses events for compliance with rules & regulations, and applicable policiesevaluating trends; anticipating requirements
- Proposes security improvements and measures for remediation of identified issues and non-compliance and cooperate with platform owners to support remediation
- Determines threat/risk level for prioritization of remediation activities
- Anticipates requirements, ie proposes monitoring rules and reports that focus on relevant correlations and alerts with low rate of false positives, which then are manageable by Security Operations Centre
- Discusses details and prioritization of remediation activities with Security Monitoring Working Group
- Coordinates with SOC service management
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- University or comparable level degree in Information Technology
- Special education in Information Security required
- Major experience in application security testing (3 years)
- Strong analytical thinking, ability to oversee complex problems
- Skilled in dealing with sensitive matters and people
- Experience in System Administration, Network Security, Information Security Policies, Network Troubleshooting, Firewall Administration, Network Protocols, Routers, Hubs, and Switches
- Experience in Security Operations
- Knowledge of ArcSight is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
- Well versed in English, orally and in writing
