Security Senior Network Engineer

A large Government Department is urgently seeking multiple Security Senior Network Engineers to work on its projects until 30 June 2013.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan and carry out tasks to ensure on time delivery;
- Provide input to the planning of the Portfolio's Gateway infrastructure;
- Work as a senior team member/technical lead, undertaking tasks with a focus on confidentiality, integrity and availability of services;
- Implement and monitor services through a certified Gateway based on CISCO, Solaris, F5 and Checkpoint devices;
- Provide day to day operational support for the Portfolio's monitoring solution within the Gateway environment, including on-call support; and
- Create and maintain complex system specifications, documentation and reports for Security solutions in the shared services based on liaison with non-technical business representatives; and Mentor junior staff.

SKILLS:

- The candidates must have, at least 5 years, demonstrated proven experience in, and knowledge of, a large IT Gateway environment;
- The candidates must have, at least 4 years, demonstrated proven experience in, and knowledge of, Internet Gateway environments;
- The candidates must have demonstrated proven ability to conduct sound research with excellent analytical and problem solving skills within an IT Security environment evidenced by the development of technical solutions to meet complex IT and Business Requirements;
- The candidates must have demonstrated proven understanding of Security principles, technologies and concepts, including Privacy principles as they apply to an IT Gateway environment; and
- At least 5 years demonstrated proven experience in, and knowledge of, a large IT Gateway environment.
