My client is currently looking for a SECURITY OPERATIONS OFFICER, this is a security operations position not a guarding position. However, the management of their small externally contracted guard force is part of the duties.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and evaluate all security systems, policies and procedures across the organisation to ensure the provision of integrated security facilities capable of protecting staff, clients and assets and of minimising exposure to security risks.
- Manage the provision and monitoring of security systems through an outside provider, to ensure that all staff, contractors, visitors and the general public are secure and protected from security risks while on premises.
- Conduct security risk assessments to continually review procedures and recommended amendments to security strategies and actions to ensure the safety of staff, clients and assets.
- Conduct audits of security systems and review access to ensure security breaches are identified, reported, managed and to develop recommendations for changes to procedures as required.
- Implement emergency systems and procedures throughout in accordance with Australian Standards, to ensure trained staff are able to assume responsibilities and to assist in the evacuation process and to ensure that all equipment meets industry and statutory requirements
- Manage the provision of equipment, programs and other requirements relating to emergency systems and evacuation plans to ensure compliance with relevant standards and statutory requirements

Skills and experience needed:

- A willingness to respond to emergency, security and access issues after business hours as part of the on call team.
- CERTIFICATE IV IN SECURITY AND RISK MANAGEMENT or other security risk related qualification or a willingness to undertake.
- A thorough and detailed understanding of AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management - Principles and Guidelines, AS 3745-2010 Planning for Emergencies in Facilities, AS 4806.1.2006 CCTV-Management and Operations, AS/NZS 2201 Set 2008 Intruder Alarm Systems.
- Excellent written communication skills; ability to write strategic documents
