Security Innovation Analyst/Security Technology Research Analyst required by market leading IT security business in Dublin. The successful Security Innovation Analyst/Security Technology Research Analyst will be part of an innovative security team, researching and applying leading edge technologies in a number of projects. The team is part of an EU-wide team of researchers addressing the security requirements of Pan-European use cases.
Our client is a multi-disciplined company focused on protecting companies' information.
Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of most, if not all security domains, either in a consultancy capacity or in an implementation capacity. Ideally a number of years' experience in both would be an advantage. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential.
Innovation/research areas include, but are not limited to:
*Converging physical and logical security technologies
*Applying leading edge data management developments to related areas, eg log analysis
*Data forensics
*Software tools to address the traceability and provenance of data as evidence
*Security operations centre (SOC) development
*Data transformation and sharing
*Security data semantics
*Market gap analysis in the security domain
*Compliance in cross-jurisdictional (EU) information systems
*Assess key project use cases and perform a structured technology gap analysis to determine technical requirements necessary to fulfil those use cases.
*Contribute to the development of tools to address the identified gaps.
*Liaise and interact with project consortium leaders and technical personnel to define and fulfil deliverables.
*Contribute to ongoing research activity, in particular proposal idea generation and development.
Successful candidates will demonstrate most of the following skills and experience:
*Strong background in IT security and networking technologies.
*A proven ability to learn about features in new security/networking technologies quickly.
*Some knowledge of physical security systems (eg access control, identity card solutions, video surveillance, biometrics systems).
*Previous technical research experience (academic or commercial).
*Ability to present and articulate findings - via verbal presentations and written scientific reports - past experience of writing scientific publications desirable.
*Ability to work to predefined time and budget schedules, and within a predefined project plan.
*Graduate level education - ideally a postgraduate degree in (preferably) IT-based scientific research discipline.
*Experience of executing consultancy-based projects.
*Good communication and team-working skills.
*Ability to work effectively with other project team members remotely.
*Ability to identify and assess commercial opportunities throughout research effort.
*Flexibility - occasional travel to Europe is required.
