We are in search of a Sr. Enterprise Architect in Security to join our enterprise clients IT department. This role will be accountable for risk assessment, analysis and design the information security characteristics of new and existing applications and components. Evaluation of the security characteristics of 3rd party vendor offerings is a key component of this role. Position is a critical liaison among application teams, Infrastructure Services, Corporate Compliance and FFIC vendors.

The Security Enterprise Architect will provide expert advice and direction in securing the clients information security assets. Assist application project teams, infrastructure/operations staff, outsourcing partners and vendors in the implementation of critical business solutions that conform to enterprise security standards. We need a candidate who can exercise thought leadership and innovation in the resolution of current technical/infrastructure challenges, as well as in the creation of long-term technical roadmaps.

OVERVIEW:

- Act as member of the Enterprise Architecture team, with responsibility for defining, challenging and supporting EA standards and decisions.
- Ensure newly developed or acquired solutions confirm with information security policies and corporate security architecture, and where appropriate propose remediation for preexisting solutions.
- Act as technical consultant and security architect for new development projects, ensuring that solutions are designed to ensure the privacy and security of company, agent and customer data.
- This position will be responsible for defining and evolving an appropriate information security roadmap for the enterprise.
- Work on project teams as a technical expert and deliver quality products according to project schedule.
- Strong emphasis on collaboration, coordination, advocacy, and mentoring.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or comparable work experience required
- CISSP or equivalent security certification highly desired
- 7+ years professional experience including implementation of large, complex applications on multiple technical platforms (eg, Wintel, AIX, z/OS)
- 3+ years of IT Security experience in a complex, multiplatform environment with both internal and external (Internet-facing) elements
- In order to be considered, candidates must have experience with: information security and risk assessments, Information Security standards and best practices (eg, ISO/IEC 27002), Identity Management, Access Management (including web access), web application security, network security, remote access management, secure file transfer, encryption protocols
- The ideal candidate will have experience with: identity federation technologies, Application Server security (preferably WebSphere Application Server and IIS), web services security, ESB technologies, portal server technology, RACF, CITRIX, PKI
- Working knowledge and experience in Wintel and UNIX (preferably AIX) is required, and knowledge of Mainframe technology (z/OS) highly desired
- Experience in/familiarity with the security characteristics and best practices for .NET and J2EE platforms highly desired
- Ability to appropriately assess risk and propose appropriate risk mitigation measures for mission-critical enterprise applications and technical components
- Ability to act as liaison among application, infrastructure, outsourcer and vendor teams in ensuring the privacy and security of enterprise data while supporting business objectives
- Proven problem solving skills, with the ability to apply both technical insight and business judgment to complex problems, and the ability to make decisions under conditions of uncertainty
- Ability to look beyond requirements of individual projects to see the overall technical, performance and cost impacts of those requirements
- Ability to provide technical solutions and alternatives, both current and forward-looking, and communicate these clearly and succinctly to all parties
- Requires minimal guidance after initial introduction to a project
- Ability to scope and estimate projects of small to medium size and complexity.
- Ability to effectively research, define and communicate standards, best practices and deliverables
- Basic knowledge of the insurance and/or financial services industry
- Proven client interaction and facilitation skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders from multiple organizations
- Excellent vendor management skills and the ability to work in a complex multivendor environment
