Security Engineer Specialist needed for an awesome contract job. Specialist If you are a Specialist with experience, please read on! This is a contract position to last until mid October. The hourly rate is $30-$40 per hour. We need a Hands On Security Engineer/Specialist. You can telework some days. This project
is in need of a technical, security engineer to perform and interpret security scans; assist the technical team with security vulnerability remediation and testing; discuss technical security vulnerabilities with the client in an effort to achieve an Authorization To Operate (ATO) for the system.

Required Skills:

-Expertise in running Network, Application and Database security scanning tools.
-Expertise in interpreting security scan results.
-Working with a technical team to implement technical security controls
-Excellent communication skills
-Equivalent experience and/or IT certification(s) such as CAP, CISSP or CISA/M certification is a plus
-Security engineering experience
-Experience with Federal Agencies
-Experience working within Veterans Affairs
-Hands-on, technical security experience with vulnerability scanning tools for the Network, Application and Database (ie Nessus, AppScan, DBProtect).

What you will be doing:

-Interpet the scans and working with the technical team to implement required controls
-Work with technical team and subcontractor team to remediate vulnerabilities and test security controls
-Prepares, formulates, and coordinates a wide variety of technical security correspondence
