Security Architect - CBD (Q6)

One of our key clients in the Brisbane market is looking for an experienced Security Architect to assess IT enabled business initiatives and provide information risk advice across multiple projects concurrently. This is an contract through till the end of financial year with likely extensions based in the CBD.

The Role:
The IT Security Architect will contribute to the overall objectives by providing ICT security architecture advice to key stakeholders. Current initiatives span cloud computing, CRM, ERP, and advanced network design. Highly advanced technical and conceptual skills are required. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are also essential. The role is part of a large respected information security team, with strong management support, in a friendly and collegiate atmosphere.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:
Provide IT security architecture advice relating to identity management, authentication, Web Services, end-to-end security in distributed environments, service oriented architecture (SOA), database management, network defence technologies such as intrusion detection and prevention, and related security area. Ensure information technology, information security strategies and architectures are complementary and are positioned to be consistent with future business directions. Research security-oriented technical solutions to defined business problems, assist with prototyping new products, standardise and document security design patterns and assess the impact of new technology or business developments. The position will include the development of security architecture templates, and contributions to the information security management framework, policies and other relevant standards and guidelines, and the provision of risk.

To be successful in this position you will have the following key skills and experience:
Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills, including the ability to develop original concepts and solutions to ensure enterprise information security architecture and information assurance. Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the principles of secure data communication and encryption technology, together with a practical understanding of security methodologies and their application. Demonstrated experience developing enterprise security architecture in a large enterprise Demonstrated deep technical expertise in a broad spectrum of technology areas eg ICT infrastructure, networks, operating systems, virtualisation, cloud computing, etc. Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, consultative and negotiation skills and the ability to build positive working relationships. Proven ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form, including the development and delivery of oral presentations and written reports targeted for the appropriate audience; liaise with all levels of internal and external customers.
