Security and Infrastructure Tester

Our client, IT Solutions Provider, is looking for a SECURITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE TESTER for a 6 month contract to be based in Gosport.

ALL CANDIDATES NEED TO HOLD VALID SC CLEARANCE OR BE WILLING TO UNDERGO SUCH CLEARANCE.

As a Security and Infrastructure Tester you will be a part of a Testing Team.

ROLE SPECIFICATION:

- Utilising the testing methodology, applies specialisation and technical test plans for the appropriate level to be executed for projects, as specified in the Test Strategy.
- Coordinates and collaborates with others in analysing collected requirements to ensure the test plans and identified testing solutions meet customer needs and expectations.
- Assists in the preparation of estimates for the various activities defined in the test plans.
- Designs complex testing scenarios and test scripts that will demonstrate conformance to all Business, Functional and Non-Functional requirements, relative to the test level, as defined in business or technical specifications.
- Stays current on established tools, techniques, and technologies.
- Has an understanding of System architecture, and Security clamps.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues in the test environments.
- Supports/leads knowledge management and collaboration through participation in testing discussions, communities and improving testing collateral through lessons learned.
- Identifies inadequacies and improvement opportunities in the methods/standards and recommends changes.
- Actively participates in Defect review process to establish route cause analysis.
- Perform analysis on defects to aide and identify root causes.
- Reviews and analyses test results.
- Analyses the data gathered from test execution.
- Reports findings according to a defined process.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

- SC CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED OR WILLINGNESS TO UNDERGO
- Testing experience including Infrastructure/Security Testing
- HP Quality Centre 10/Application Lifecycle Manager
- Good understanding of TCP/IP Networking standards
- Good understanding of secure protocols and encryption eg SSL, TLS, HTTPS, SHA1/2 etc.
- Good understanding of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, JSP, ASP, .Net, etc.
- Good understanding of Windows XP/2000/2003/2008

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Prior experience of working in a Defence Environment
- ISTQB Foundation in software testing
- Good understanding of Oracle E-business Suite V11 and V12
- Experience of network and protocol analysis tools (NMAP, Wireshark etc..)
- Experience of Security Hardening validation tools (NESSUS, VIDIGGER etc.)
- Experience in validating and proving Security Requirements.
- Previous experience in IT Support or Development.
