Security Analyst Job

SECURITY ANALYST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Perform information security monitoring
- Perform analysis and preliminary investigations into the cause of data loss
- Assist with the remediation of events that involve data policy violations
- Work with various business units to educate and train on safe data handling process
- Assist with, or be responsible for the generation and distribution of reports regarding DLP events

What You'll Be Doing:
- The Security Administrator will be responsible for monitoring information security events, performing preliminary analysis, and escalating the events for remediation. He/she will have the opportunity to work with various business units determining root cause for policy violations and assist with the remediation of security events.
- Essential Daily Job Functions (estimate % time):
- Security Monitoring: 22%
- Security Event Analysis: 22%
- Event Escalation and Remediation: 22%
- Rule Tuning, Solution Maintenance, and assist with design: 9%
- Training, Reporting and other related functions: 25%

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Minimum Education: Associates Degree in IT related field or equivalent experience in IT fields related to DLP, IDS/IPS systems, Security Monitoring, Information Security, IT Risk, Vulnerability Management or similar field.
- Minimum Experience Required: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in IT related monitoring functions, network design, or security response/containment.
- Soft Skills desired for the position: (Communication, Multi-Tasking, etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment, motivate team members and influence behavior of others
- Personable and reliable self-starter who requires minimal management oversight for day-to-day work responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail with a pro-active approach to solving and preventing problems
- Exceptional interpersonal and partnership skills and the ability to positively influence outcomes, particularly in difficult matters
- Highly motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities
