Seating Lead Engineer (29317)

My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, are looking to recruit a Seating Lead Engineer to join their Special Vehicle Operations division on a long-term contract basis.

Position Title: Seating Lead Engineer

Rate: £23.94 p/h Ltd co.

Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire

Position Description:

Seating Lead Engineer responsible for leading Introduction and development of new and modified features requested by Project Teams and end user Customers.

The candidate will interface with both tier 1 suppliers and internal departments to ensure targets are met in the development of components for Interior Trim enhancements.

Skills Required:

Must have Engineering Design/Development background within Automotive Trim or similar for Interior components, ideally having worked within both OEM and Tier 1 trim suppliers
Seating Foams and Covers or Seat Structures
Low to medium volume tooling experience including RP

Experience Required:

Degree in Engineering or comparable qualification
General knowledge of automotive Trim Design, component manufacture and construction knowledge - with specific experience in automotive seating
Project management of designs ensuring timely releases for virtual series gateways and Tooling/Production releases
Lead and co-ordinate the design and development of interior components from initial concept design through to Job 1 implementation.

Experience Preferred:

Strong knowledge of at least 2-off the following CATIA V5 or Digi-Buck/Vis-Mock-up Plus Tce - Desirable
Experience of problem solving tools eg 6 panel, PPS (8D), FMEA, Robustness, etc. -and able to lead problem resolution projects.

Additional Information:

Advantage to have the following: WERS/EFDVS trained
Ideally trained in RMDV, PACN, AIMS, PPIR, 8D & DFMEA, plus working knowledge of the STA/PPAP PSW Process

Travel to other sites as and when required
