We are looking for a Search & Navigation Executive to join our Digital team to join us as soon as possible on a fixed term contract to Juy 2016 to cover sabbatical leave, based at our Media & Commerce Centre in Chiswick Park.

During this time you will manage and optimise our web taxonomy, navigation and search results across all of our digital experiences to help our customers find the fantastic offers and products that we promote daily.

Working as part of the digital team, this role is key to improving web conversion and customer experience through developing and refining the categories we group product into. To do this you will utilise market leading search tool Endeca, and partner closely with our ecommerce, IT, and copywriting teams to optimise our onsite search experience.

Main role accountabilities

Implementing and managing online taxonomy & navigation

• Defining and scheduling search redirects - to manage requests for search results and implement time sensitive SERPs.
• Managing onsite search thesaurus entries - to manage search queries and groupings for best results.
• Defining business rules for onsite search - working within Endeca to implement and set up QVC business logic to aid results.
• Pairing product lists with content - On established timelines, execute key new steps in the content creation and publishing process to enable conditional display of content that Web Designers assemble.
• Aligning taxonomy with commercialbusiness tools, promotional attributes, product ranking, and promotional tagging.Defining navigation and taxonomy - defining attribute and value optimisation based on customer usage.
• Management of business logic - managing soft attributes, default sort, auto promo tag priorities, etc.

Testing, Measuring, and Reporting

• Establish & evolve regular reporting - working with the ecommerce analyst to ensure regular reports are generated to educate the business, and with IT to ensure appropriate reporting is generated from in-house tooling.
• Measuring results against KPIs - working with the ecommerce analyst to define key onsite search metrics and reports to communicate to the business teams.
• Reviewing onsite navigation performance - evaluate indicators and web metrics to make recommendations on next steps for site optimisation.

Ensure Operational Excellence & Industry Best Practice

• Managing internal applications - work with IT to determine the most appropriate manner in which to support the platform with internal and external applications including reporting/troubleshooting of production-related issues, the proper testing environment, and procedures to ensure the best customer experience.
• Establishing best practice - research best practice and make contact with industry/QVC peers to benefit QVC's online channels.
• Evolving onsite navigation - make proposals to managers on how to best utilise the tools we have, and outline future considerations.

Decision Making
• The post holder has responsibility for general commercial decisions relating to onsite navigation for the interactive businesses.
• Primary point of escalation for business affecting online search & navigation issues.
• The post holder is responsible for advising other teams regarding taxonomy, onsite search & navigation.

We are looking for someone who has a degree, HND or equivalent in a relevant subject area and who has a minimum of two years' experience in an e-commerce or online search management role within a web retail environment.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and numerical skills, be PC literate and have experience of analysing and managing a site search or dynamic merchandising tool (FactFinder, Endeca etc.).

You'll have experience of extracting and utilising data from a web metrics tool, be results driven and be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
