Search Marketing Manager; London; 9 months; £250/day

My client is looking for an outstanding Search Marketing Manager who will have oversight for all search marketing (Paid and Organic). As well as supporting all marketing campaigns the new role of Search Marketing Manager will be required to educate internal stakeholders as to the importance of Search in the overall customer journey. Specifically he/she will be required to champion the role of gov.uk in making it easier to find information about services using search engines.

Successful candidates will need to be able to coordinate the work of cross-cutting virtual teams of internal and external stakeholders, sourcing specialist support internally and external providers when necessary. The Search Marketing Manager will be reporting to the Marketing Director, Digital.

Main responsibilities:
*Campaign Planning/Strategy
oDesign a paid search marketing plan - brand awareness and lead generation objectives will both need to be catered for.
oBuild long-tail keyword list and copy blocks based on existing and forthcoming campaigns.
oBuild a forecast model of expected leads from the programme.
*Execution
oIdentify and retain a bid management vendor to manage the paid search programme
oWork directly with Google, Yahoo/Bing and the appointed bid management agency to ensure that campaign goals are being achieved (position, cost, click-rate, ROI)
oWork closely with: internal team on copy approval, and campaign briefs
oEducate, train and support country/regional/head office marketing teams to use search marketing activities as part of the marketing mix
oDecide the size, scope and approach of keyword list
oManage and maintain copy blocks for evergreen and ad hoc campaigns
oEngage in A/B testing with regards to copy and landing page optimisation
*Analytics & Reporting
oDevelop a Search 'dashboard' that reports on the effectiveness of SEO and SEM activities
oEnsure that the lead generation metrics are incorporated into the overall Lead Generation Programme
oCreation of flight plans, schedules and communication for all stakeholders
oKnowledge of attribution based modelling an advantage
*Management of internal system setup.
oSome system setup for implementation of Search Programs (such as Google Analytics/Omniture).
oFamiliarity with bid management tools useful.
oWork with the gov.uk to resolve any tracking issues

Key skills and knowledge required:
The successful candidate will have experience of managing large search marketing programmes within complex organsations (private sector or government). In addition they will be a strong communicator with a collaborative approach to achieving mutually favourable outcomes
*5+ year's business experience, with 3+ years of experience in developing and executing search marketing programs.
*Strong knowledge of content management/strategy, with a solid know-how in digital marketing and how an integrated approach produces online sales/lead generation.
*Experience with segmentation, test design and programme evaluation.
*Results-oriented, customer driven, organized with attention to detail.
*Strong and effective communication skills.
*Experience communicating business and marketing objectives to cross functional teams.
*Experience with Omniture/Google Analytics ideal
*Creative thinker, open to idea exploration with strong problem solving/analytical abilities.
*Willing to receive direction and guidance within a complex cross-functional team environment.
*BA in Marketing or related field required

Security Clearance:
*BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)
