SDET - Software Developer in Test

We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to work on a large test automation initiative with an extremely well-known organization in Philadelphia. This is a long term contract opportunity. Client will Skype to hire for non local candidates willing to work on site in Philadelphia.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Write code to test the wide functionality of products and software.
- Write automated test scripts that allow for repeatable, reliable testing solutions.
- Assists in providing guidance and mentorship for junior-level SDET's. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
- Create Automated Testing documentation, including Test Plans, Test Summary Reports, etc.
- Execute automated test scripts, and report out results to team.
- Analyze broken test cases and diagnose and repair to working order.
- Diagnose and repair simple bugs within production code
- Perform code reviews of automation scripts and Front End codebases
- Maintain automation codebase in a version control system (GIT, SVN)
- Create simple SQL queries for validation of databases
- Write SOAP and RESTful API automated scripts
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 5+ years of professional programming experience
- Knowledge in most of the following:
- HTML5, XML, CSS 3, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, web standards, browser compatibility/workarounds, accessibility laws and development techniques, HTTP and RESTful web services, Java
- Experience with:
- Cucumber, RSpec, Jenkins, Capybara, Selenium, and similar technologies
- Experience with Code Quality Governance related tools, such as:
- Gerrit, Sonar, Cobertura, JIRA, etc.
- Working experience with Middleware development (services/database), data integration and comparing data using web service endpoints
- Experience in creating, executing and debugging automated testing scripts using programming languages such as Python, Ruby and Java.
- Experience building web applications in Java and/or Ruby
- Working experience using off the shelf tools such as Parasoft
- Working knowledge with REST APIs, verifying HTTP responses, methods, headers, etc.
- Working experience on Windows and Linux platforms for both GUI and command line interfaces.
- Use of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL (both querying and use of dataset as Scripting object) using tools like SQL Developer, TOAD etc, preferred.
- Experience with Internet test tools such as Rally, Juniper, and Eclipse etc.
- Creative, self-motivated team player willing to take the lead to develop cutting-edge innovative solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team.
- Curiosity to learn the newest techniques and technologies.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS, VARIABLE SCHEDULE(S) AS NECESSARY.
