The objective of the smart metering project is to deliver a capability to the B2C and B2B (SME) businesses that allows smart meters to be rolled out across the resi and SME customer base in a cost efficient way. The roll out of smart meters is expected to ramp up from 2013 onwards with peak installation volumes occurring across 2015 - 2019 inclusive. The role exists with the Value & Integrity workstream. The objective of this team is to ensure consistency between the programme vision, scope, design and investment case. The role will sit in the 'Integrity' leg of the team which focusses on Scope Governance and Design Integrity.. Scope Governance is a mechanism for controlling changes to programme scope, vision, investment case assumptions and deployment profile, ensuring all changes are made on an informed basis with a clear understanding of the impact on costs, benefits, business organisation, risk and so on.. Design Integrity involves a number of activities to test that the solution design is consistent across delivery areas (different providers and technologies) and solution areas (Field, Retail, Customer Services, Asset Management, Logistics and Supply Chain). This testing will initially focus on design areas of risk, either due to their cross-delivery or cross-functional unit impact The Analyst will support the Integrity Lead in execution of the above activities as the project progresses through the design phases. This will involve day to day management of a number of assets that support the governance process (eg decision log, meeting minutes) as well as upkeep of core project scope documents (eg programme vision).
