SCM and Build Expert

Location: Veldhoven (Eindhoven)
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months, on proven ability intending to hire for a longer time
Hours a week: 40

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Create and rollout deliverables as part of a team of about 8 persons in our IT department. The environment we create is used by about 200 SW developers (in Veldhoven and San Diego). Deliverables are in the areas described above under Roadmap Topics .
- Time will be largely devoted to new development, but we also need to provide 2nd line support for the existing infrastructure and software.
- Write Python Scripting to create and refine the build system. Automate build in Jenkins. Write Scripting in Python, Perl.
- Define improvement proposals that focus on system performance and process efficiency for end-users.
- Strong partner in discussions with the very experienced SW developers.
- You should be able to manager your own work, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, test and code delivery.
- Experience in test-driven development/behaviour-driven development is a plus.

- Senior - Setting up SW development environment
- Medior or Senior - Build system/makefiles

- Junior or medior - Ruby on Rails

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Build new parts of and provide support on existing S/W development, build, test, release infrastructure.

SPECIALS:

- Self Starting: Able to perform a complete development cycle for each deliverable, meaning find and interview customers, coordinate own work and handle rollout to customers.
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to handle stress due to issues from demanding customers that potentially disturb the work.
- Show initiative and problem solving attitude.
- Pragmatic, practical, flexible (occasional evening or weekend work) and committed to quality.
- Proficiency in the English language.
