Summary:

Located in Bedford, MA, Celgene Avilomics Research is seeking an experienced research Scientist I in the Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology Department. This department focuses on target based covalent drug discovery employing our proprietary structure & bioinformatics Avilomics platform. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology.

Technical Skills:

- Skilled using plate-based biochemical assays, both kinetic and binding, and comfortable with the analysis of binding isotherms and enzyme kinetic data.
- Extensive experience specifically with kinase assays is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience developing, validating and executing cell signaling assays is a distinct advantage.
- Solid quantitative skills are essential.
- A thorough understanding of basic enzymology.
- Ability to independently generate precise, reliable data and skillfully interpret it.
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems and standard cell biology techniques are a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

- Characterize basic biochemical and catalytic properties of recombinant enzymes and their interactions with small molecule inhibitors including mechanism of action.
- Develop, optimize, validate, trouble shoot and execute biochemical assays.
- Develop and execute cell-based assays utilizing a variety of technical approaches.
- Analyze and report the results to the corporate database and project teams.
