Spring Technology are looking for a Science Campus Development Manager. The role will based between York (3 days per week) and London. Candidates are asked to provide their own day rates.

The role will be in the Commercial Directorate. The Science Campus Development Manager will lead both the creation of a new organisation to manage and operate the Sand Hutton site near York and secondly to develop strategic options for the future of both this site and others.
The role will develop effective relationships in order to influence and secure engagement from a wide range of stakeholders and will provide guidance and support to the Head of Commercial Projects.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:
o To establish the Sand Hutton site as multi-tenanted science campus. This will require a dedicated experienced person to take on two major functions:
1 - Manage the separation of the ownership, management and operation of the site from Fera. This will include the overseeing financial/accounting issues and the creation of an operational team to take over the running of the site;
2 - Developing a business plan that will look at the future options for the site which would satisfy not just the organisation etc but also to interest a private sector partner.

Relevant Experience:
o Experience of leading similar science park project;
o Experience of working with central government departments and agencies
o Managing complex commercial transactions in the public and private sector
o Stakeholder Relationship Management within central government, academic partners and local stakeholders.

Other Significant Role Requirements:
o Flexibility, willingness and ability to adapt to change.
o Persuasive presenter, facilitator and negotiator with the ability to influence to support the achievement of the project objectives.
o Able to monitor/scan external sources of data and intelligence and to pro-actively share relevant information with others.

People Management:
o Will be required to lead, manage, motivate and co-ordinate cross-functional teams, sometimes with no direct authority over a significant number of the key stakeholders and team members.
