InsideAsia Tours UK Office is currently recruiting for a School Groups & Special Interests Groups Sales Specialist (Japan).

InsideAsia Tours is a young and dynamic travel company based in Bristol, UK. Our two brands are InsideJapan Tours and InsideVietnam Tours. The company also has offices in Nagoya, Japan and Boulder, CO, USA. We organise small group tours and tailored packages for private clients and third-party travel agents. The majority of our customers are UK-based, but we also have a significant volume of customers from North America, Australia (served by our Japan office) and other parts of the world. As an operator specialising in only two destinations coupled with our ground handling office in Japan, we are in a unique position in the market.

THE POSITION

You will be developing, planning and selling tours to Japan for school groups, university groups, special interest groups and sports groups. This will involve promoting our services directly to schools, colleges and universities, representing the company at events and working with school group specialist agents and other agents.

You will need to research the market and put in place a plan to develop our offering in this area. You will also be supporting the Group Tours Manager and group tours team in their work in operating, promoting and selling our full range of group tours.

YOUR PRINCIPAL DUTIES WILL BE:

• Designing, pricing, selling and coordinating delivery of group tours for the education sector, special interests and sports clubs

• Promoting our services through school, college and university visits and events

• Market research and analysis

OTHER DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Assisting with the development of customer facing group tour documents (letters, dossiers, info-packs)

• Working with the operations teams in Japan and Indochina to check group tour arrangements and services, and making sure arrangements are correctly noted in the documents for the clients and the tour leaders

• Updating our info-pack resources, for example updating hotel maps or descriptions

• Other administrative tasks as the needs arises

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Travel industry experience, ideally in groups

• Excellent presentation and writing skills

• Planning and administrative skills and an eye for detail

• Experience of living in Japan and/or extensive Japan travel experience

• Experience of the education sector

You will be reporting to the Group Tours Manager in the UK and working closely with the Group Tours Ground Manager in Japan, the marketing team, the tour leaders, guides, group tours operations staff and the group tours admin team in the UK and Japan.

PAY AND BENEFITS

BASIC SALARY : £21k to £25k p.a. depending on experience. Up to £4k bonus on sales performance in the first full calendar year.

HOURS: 40 hours per week (normal hours 8/9am to 5/6pm with 1 hour for lunch)

HOLIDAY: 23 days + bank holidays

BONUS: We have a discretionary annual company bonus

STAKE HOLDER PENSION: The company operates a voluntary scheme. The company will contribute 3% of your monthly salary into the fund. The minimum employee contribution is £1

PROBATION PERIOD: 6 months, can be extended by 1 additional month if necessary.

Candidates will need to have the right to work in the UK. For this position we are unfortunately unable to sponsor visas.
