Scada Engineer

An engineering and construction client has an immediate need for a SCADA Engineer with a Top Secret security clearance and datacenter experience in the Annapolis Junction, MD, area. This position can be either a direct hire or a temp-to-perm. The successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of SCADA, including interfacing with maintenance management systems, designing user-friendly MMIs and WEB sites for data analysis and reporting, providing database design, and experience with various DCS and PLC based control systems. Relocation assistance will be available for qualified candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop interfaces between various ODBC interfaces to database management systems and native SCADA platforms
- Database design, including development of stored procedures to interface with WEB sites and reporting packages, and handshaking with local control systems using various communication protocols
- Working with a variety of local control systems to ensure data reliability and availability
- Providing administration and maintenance of SCADA systems
- Preparing and using commissioning documentation (checklists, analog documentation, graphic verification and points lists)
- Designing hardware and software functional specifications for facilities infrastructure automated processing using SCADA technologies from well-established worldwide hardware and software vendors
- HMI, MMI, and SCADA logic and programming with software packages from large commercial vendors

REQUIREMENTS

- 4-year Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field
- 10+ years experience with projects which involved collecting user requirements, system design, system execution/implementation and final acceptance, startup & formal commissioning
- Experience with all commonly used communications protocols such as MODBUS, MODBUS TCP, DNP, IEC 61850, etc
- Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, or ability to obtain and maintain this clearance
- Must have experience in all major SCADA subsystems, including front end, communications, and field equipment
- Must have datacenter or similar experience
