Sc Cleared Service Architect

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: SC

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Service Architect/Consultant you will be fully involved in ensuring that the projects undertaken on the account deliver effective and coherent service, encompassing both the service delivered to the end customer/user and the delivered service that monitors and manages the systems. 

You will be experienced in the:

- gathering of service requirements
- definition of service capabilities
- development of IT policies
- development of service architecture including People, Organisation, Process, information and Technology

You will have experience, on multiple service transformations and service improvements, in the design, development and implementation of the processes, procedures and organisation structure necessary to deliver a defined service.

As part of the Solution Architecture and Design Service team, working for the Programme Architects and with the Solution Lead(s), you will be responsible for the service design elements of each project and work item that impacts on the existing ICT service.

Throughout the life cycle of the project/work item, you will liaise with the Solution Lead(s) responsible for integrity of solution, with the Service Transition responsible for the service take on activities, with the team leaders of the operations teams that will eventually will be providing the new/improved service, and with the client architects, who will be acting as the Design Authority. 

This liaison with the DA will also help to identify areas of improvements, offer possible solutions to system management requirements and advise on technology, environment management and technology refresh during the life of the IS contract.

In addition to working with projects, you may be given tasks to advise on organisational, service and process change within the service delivery organisation on the account.

You will report to the Account CTO and the Principal Service Architect and work as one in a team of Solutions Architects and Designers. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS (IN PREFERENCE ORDER):

Relevant ITIL v3 qualification.

Experience, across multiple service improvement projects of:

- gathering of service requirements
- definition of service capabilities
- development of IT policies
- development of service architecture including People, Organisation, Process, information and Technology
- working on the design and implementation of processes and procedures to deliver IT systems that can be effectively managed and which deliver practical benefits to the users
- Very strong client facing communication skills

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

Private or public cloud services

Transformation through tooling

Moving to applications as a service

Asset/configuration/product life cycle management and licencing

Experience of production of system security documentation, processes and procedures, related to service delivery

Consulting experience

Experience of practical team leadership

Strong educational background - ideally a degree

Experience of submitting work to a Design Authority
